Datuk Lee Chong Wei beats China's Lin Dan in the rubber set of an intense semifinal match 22-20

Datuk Lee Chong Wei will now go on to play in the gold medal match of the men's singles after emerging victorious at the end of a classic showdown with Lin Dan at the Rio Olympics on Friday.
The matched ended 22-20.
Lin Dan had emerged with a one-point lead with 11-10 at the break.
Both players were relentless as they aggressively sought after every point of the set.
Lin Dan fought hard against Lee's narrow lead to tie the game at 5-5 before going ahead by two points.
However Lee never allowed his opponent to run away to far from him, eventually taking the lead 8-7.
Second Set
Lee put on an impressive performance to outclass his opponent with 5 unanswered points at the start of the set before going on to claim a 11-2 point lead at the break.
Lee continued his dominance after the interval, maintaining a huge point margin between himself and his opponent till the end of the set.
The set ended 21-11.
In the first set, Lin Dan, who took the first point of the first set, looked outstanding as he took the lead 11-6, forcing Lee to make several errors along the way.
After the break, Lee allowed Lin Dan to run away with a seven point lead at 13-8 before fighting back.
Despite the Malaysian fighting hard to recover, the set ended 21-15 in favour of Lin Dan.
Both players are just two sets away from securing a place at the final for the third time in a row.
Lee previously defeated Taiwan’s Chou Tien-Chen 21-9, 21-15 at the quarter-final stage.
This is also the third time that Lee is facing Lin Dan in the Olympics, having faced his rival previously at the men's finals of the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics.
