SEPANG: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was suspended as Umno deputy president, will make a decision on his position in the party Thursday.
Muhyiddin said he would be holding a press conference to explain his suspension and other matters.
“In the meantime, I remain in Umno and would like to thank friends and supporters who came to show their support,” he told reporters upon returning from a trip to Vietnam last evening.
Muhyiddin, who was absent from the supreme council meeting that saw his suspension, arrived at the KL International Airport at 7pm and was immediately mobbed by a group of supporters.
Among those present were members of the Coalition of Umno Branch Chiefs Malaysia and Gabungan Selamatkan Malaysia.
Chants of “Hidup Tan Sri” rang out through the arrival hall as the veteran Umno leader appeared, clad fully in black.
