KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has refused an application by the Home Ministry to stay a ruling which set aside a three-month suspension order against two publications of The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd.

Justice Asmabi Mohamad denied the application on the grounds that there were no special circumstances which allowed for it.

She made the ruling after hearing submission by parties in chambers.

This means that The Edge can go on with their printing of both publications. The court ordered the minister and the Home Ministry’s secretary-general, who are the respondents, to pay RM4,000 in costs.
