KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will not allow Bersih's application to hold a planned rally on Aug 29 and 30 at Dataran Merdeka and Padang Merbuk.
City Mayor Datuk Amin Nordin (pic) said on Tuesday that on the same dates, Dataran Merdeka would be used for preparations for the Merdeka Day Parade.
He added that Padang Merbuk would also be used by the Armed Forces for logistics purposes, also for the Merdeka Day parade.
Amin also said the use of Dataran Merdeka was specifically for national events and City Hall events while it was not the policy to allow other events at Dataran.
