PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has confirmed the raid on the office of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Ahmad Sazilee Abdul Khairi.
Special Branch director Comm Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, however, denied the involvement of his officers who were said to have led the raid related to investigations into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
“We are not involved as the investigation on 1MDB is led by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
“I can’t comment much on the articles that were published on the online portals but one thing I know is, the facts are wrong,” he told The Star on Sunday.
A source said that police first raided Ahmad Sazilee’s home in Precinct 11 in Putrajaya and later at his office at the MACC’s Special Operations Division in Precinct 3 at about 8pm, Saturday.
Files on 1MDB and its former subsidiary SRC International as well as laptops were seized.
Earlier, Ahmad Sazilee, former MACC advisory board member Tan Sri Rashpal Singh and Attorney-General’s Chambers finance and anti-money laundering secretariat member Jessica Gurmeet Kaur were detained to assist police investigations involving Sarawak Report editor Claire Rewcastle-Brown.
