Toyota Hilux crashes into sign post killing a Doctor on the spot. A passenger also a doctor was unhurt

Doctor killed in accident on North-South Expressway

 
IPOH: A doctor was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in crashed into a signboard post at KM271 of the North-South Expressway here.
Dr R. Karthigan, 31, from Cameron Highlands, was travelling northbound in a Toyota Hilux with another 34-year-old doctor when the incident occurred at about 1.25am on Sunday.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said police believed that Dr Karthigan might have lost control of his vehicle in the ensuing accident near the Gunung Lang exit sliproad.
"The vehicle skidded and crashed into the side barrier before crashing into the post. The victim was trapped in the wreck.
"Dr Karthigan was injured on his head and died on the spot while the other passenger was unhurt," he added.
ACP Sum said the two-lane road was straight and dry, but dim without lightings.
He added that the case would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
