According to TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice 2015 awards for water parks, amusement parks, zoos and aquariums around the globe, Sunway Lagoon is the fourth best in Asia.
At the top of the pile is Waterbom Bali in Kuta, Indonesia, followed by Chimelong Water Park, Guangzhou, China and Black Mountain Water Park in Hua Hin, Thailand. In 5th place is Coco Splash Adventure and Water Park in Lamai Beach, Thailand.
Rounding off the Top 10 are water parks in Mumbai (India), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Jakarta (Indonesia), and two in Singapore.
The annual awards are based on the millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers across the globe. Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews over a 12-month period.
The No.1 amusement park in Asia is Universal Studios in Singapore (Legoland Malaysia came in at No.16); the best zoo is Singapore Zoo; and the best aquarium is Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Motobucho, Japan (Aquaria KLCC is at No.22).
