SHAH ALAM: A man was gruesomely decapitated and left to rot in a drain in a secluded industrial area near Section 36 here.
When the police found the body a week later on Thursday afternoon, it was severely bloated and decomposed with some parts believed to have been eaten by animals.
A forensics team returned to the scene in Jalan Datuk Sellathevan here yesterday to search for more clues and the missing head in the bushes surrounding the ditch where the body was found.
“We searched around a wide radius from the drain, but did not find anything.
“He was probably decapitated somewhere else and then dumped here.
“The fingerprints have been destroyed by decomposition in the water, and without the head we may not be able to identify the victim,” the investigators said.
Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Shafien Mamat released two pictures of the victim’s body, showing a tattoo of a dragon on his left arm and a flower on his right.
“Anyone who knows of someone in his 30s who is missing and matches this description is asked to come forward to assist us in the investigation,” he said.
The man is believed to have had his head cut off with a “sharp and heavy” object.
No other injuries were found on his naked body.
ACP Shafien said they were baffled as there was no missing persons report made in Shah Alam.
He also discounted the possibility that the body could be that of a 49-year-old moneylender who went missing in Kepong in June.
The victim’s left hand was missing, believed to have been eaten, while his right fingers were severely decomposed.
