PUTRAJAYA: A construction and property development company director, sought by the special task force investigating 1MDB funds, has been remanded for four days by a Putrajaya magistrate’s court.
It is believed that the 39-year-old director was arrested at about 1pm, Monday at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport by the 1MDB task force as he was about to board a flight.
He was produced before a magistrate Tuesday.
The director’s lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah (pic) said his client has been remanded for four days over "national interest."
"They asked for seven days but the magistrate allowed for four days only," he added.
It is believed the task force had sought the director, who once associated with SRC International Sdn Bhd, to assist in its investigations.
