Syabas Corporate Communications and Public Affairs general manager Priscilla Alfred said interruption of water supply was due to the upgrading of water supply systems in those areas.
She said work to install new 700mm butterfly valves nearby the Shell station in Taman Putra Height, Shah Alam, will begin on April 21 from 9pm and would disrupt water supply to some areas in Klang and Shah Alam until 8am on April 22.
“The areas affected are in Putra Indah, Putra Bahagia, Putra Permai, Putra Mahkota, and Bukit Lanchong, Shah Alam,” she said in a press statement here.
Meanwhile, work to replace a 450mm butterfly valve at Jalan Kuari roundabout in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, will begin on April 21 from 9pm to noon the next day.
“The areas involved in Kuala Lumpur are Taman Cheras Utama, Taman Pandan Perdana, Taman Cheras Indah, Taman Maju Jaya, Taman Pandan Indah, Taman Kencana, Taman Pandan Indah Komersial and Jalan Pandan Cahaya”.
“Consumers are advised to store enough water to face the water supply disruption as well as to use water sparingly during the period”, said Priscilla.
She said consumers who needed information on the work schedule could use the ‘mySYABAS’ application that could be downloaded through the Google Playstore and Apple Appstore, as well as via its official website athttp://www.syabas.com.my or via social websites Twitter and Facebook (by searching for ‘Puspel’). — Bernama
