KUALA LUMPUR: The police reports made against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be investigated “discreetly”, if ever the authorities decide to conduct a probe, says Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (pic).
The Deputy Home Minister said the investigations would be done quietly and without publicity out of respect for the former premier.
“You must remember that Tun M is a former prime minister and due respect must be given.
“Even if there is any investigation, it will be done discreetly by the police to give him all due respect.
“But of course, the police will do what is necessary.
"Nobody is above the law - not you or me,” Dr Wan Junaidi told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Monday.
It was reported that the Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) had lodged reports in Rembau, Kuantan and Hulu Selangor, as the group wanted the police to investigate Dr Mahathir for sedition over his comments about the Prime Minister.
Dr Mahathir through his blog chedet.cc had written about the controversial 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder.
