KOTA TINGGI: Two sisters with a common passion for make-up were killed along with three men in a head-on collision at KM61.2 along Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing.
The dead are Rosmah Muda, 28, and her sister Fatimah, 24, and friends Mohamad Shafie Pecek, 21, Mohamad Fayad Abdul Rahman, 21, and Mohd Nizam Hassan, 29.
During the 10.40pm incident on Thursday, Rosmah and Fatimah had been travelling from their home in Endau, Mersing, for a bridal make-up job in Felda Air Tawar 3, along with their younger sibling Nor Syafikah, 14.
It is learnt that the three sisters were supposed to have checked in at a hotel in Jalan Habab here, which had been provided by the bride’s family for the wedding ceremony yesterday.
Younger brother Muhammad Muklis Muda, 23, said his siblings had left their house on Thursday night for the 130km journey to Felda Air Tawar 3 in a Perodua Kenari driven by Rosmah.
“Whenever there is a bridal job, they would always travel together because all three share a common passion for make-up,” he said.
Kota Tinggi deputy police chief Deputy Supt Low Hang Seng said in the collision between the Perodua Kenari and Proton Wira, both Rosmah and Fatimah died on the spot.
“Nur Shafiqah is badly injured and has been admitted to the Kota Tinggi Hospital for treatment,” he said.
The three men in the Wira were on their way back to Felda Tenggaroh, Mersing, after dinner in Kota Tinggi.
The case, said DSP Low, was being investigated. .
