Baby of woman who went into labour on MH135 dies

PETALING JAYA: The baby of an Australian woman who went into labour on Malaysian Airlines flight MH135, forcing an emergency landing in Bali, died before reaching the hospital.
Samual P. Jeyanthi, was brought to the Kasih Ibu Hospital in Bali after the plane landed at the Ngurah Rai Airport at around 2.10pm Friday, after it requested a diversion from its original Kuala Lumpur- Brisbane route.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported head of medical services Diah Ratna Dewi as saying that when the woman arrived, the baby of around 24 weeks had already been delivered and was dead.
"We estimate the baby was born 1 to 1.5 hours before we received her. According to the patient, there had been no problems with her pregnancy," she was quoted as saying.
The doctor added that the woman was treated and picked up by her airline around 9pm.
The flight, carrying 178 passengers, took off for its intended destination two hours after the diverted landing.
