7 youths claim trial to rape

SEREMBAN: Seven youths, aged between 18 and 24, pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here yesterday to raping a woman at a house at Seremban 2 last week.
Muhammad Amsyar Mohd Ali, 24, Mohammad Shamrin Mohd Safik Suresh, 22, Mohd Fareez Jamil, 19, A. Thanesh, 18, Muhammad Farih Surrmay, 19, Mohd Firdaus Jamsari, 18, and Muhammad Naim Haris, 19, were charged separately before judge Datuk Jagjit Singh Bant Singh with raping the victim, aged 22, at a flat unit in Garden Avenue here between 3am on Sept 11 and 5.30pm on Sept 15.
According to the charge sheets, Amsyar allegedly committed the offence at 6pm on Sept 11, Shamrin at 7pm on Sept 11, Fareez at 10.30pm on Sept 11, Thanesh at 8pm on Sept 13, Farih at 3am on Sept 11, Firdaus at 3pm on Sept 13, and Naim, between 5pm and 5.30pm, on Sept 15.
The judge warned them not to contact the victim as a condition for their bail. He set Oct 20 for mention.
