Two army men killed in NSE accident near Kuala Kangsar

IPOH: Two army personnel were killed and two others were seriously injured after their army armoured personnel carrier (APC) overturned at KM232.6 of the North-South Expressway in Kuala Kangsar, about 40km from here.
A police spokesman said the driver was believed to have lost control of the APC which hit the road divider in the 6.50pm incident on Thursday. The APC overturned and trapped all four men inside.
Kuala Kangsar fire station chief Ismail Darus said they managed to rescue the driver, L/Kpl Freaddy Barbalas, and Kpl Sharifuddin Abdullah.
“Both have been sent to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital for treatment,” he said.
The deceased were identified as one Sjn Bayong, who died at the scene, and Kpl Che Mohd Patanah Che Ismail, who died on the way to the hospital.
