GURUN: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom reminded Muslim eateries not to run their business and sell food before 3pm throughout the fasting month.
Jamil said the Islamic Departments nationwide should closely monitor all the Muslim eateries particularly to avoid them from selling the food to the Muslim customers.
“Food operators are allowed to prepare their dishes by noon but they were strictly prohibited from selling the food to Muslim customers before 3pm.
"Islamic Department and relevant agencies will not hesitate to take stern action against these stall owners for disobeying the council's law which prohibited Muslim eatery operators from operating their businesses before 3pm during Ramadhan,” he said in a Press conference after presenting aid to imams under the Jerai Parliamentary today.
A total of 44 imams were received a box of dates, clothes and zamzam water at Umno building in Guar Chempedak here.
He added that those who disobey the rule are liable to a RM300 compound and face the risk of having their food and equipment seized.
