Terengganu MB plays Good Samaritan to road crash victims
KUALA TERENGGANU: His busy schedule did not stop Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said from stopping to help the victims of a road accident in Seri Bandi, Kemaman here today.
Ahmad who was passing through the area after attending the Dana Bakti Remaja presentation ceremony at the Kijal civic hall at 3.45pm, stopped to help the victims although he was scheduled to attend another function at 4pm in Kijal.
The accident involved seven people in a Proton Perdana and a Perodua Viva.
Ahmad's press secretary Rosli Zakaria said a woman travelling in the Perodua Viva was seriously injured while one of the Proton Perdana passengers, was trapped in the wrecked car.
"As their injury were quite serious, the Menteri Besar arranged for some of the victims to be sent to Kemaman hospital in his car."
"He also flagged down some of the passing vehicles to help send the victims to hospital," said Rosli.
Rosli said Ahmad also tried, though unsuccessfuly, to help the trapped victim.
"The trapped victim was injured quite badly and Ahmad helped to comfort him while awaiting for help," he said.
