Last 6 ISA Detainess From Terrorist Group To Be Released on Sunday Jan 5, 2014

The last six ISA detainees to be released tomorrow

   
PETALING JAYA: The last six remaining Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees will be released on Sunday from the Kemunting Protective Detention Centre in Taiping.
All six were members of the terrorist group Darul Islamiah Sabah.

They were arrested on Nov 14 2011 and were ordered to be detained for two years.
Three of them are Malaysians, two Indonesian and a Filipino.
Their release was announced by Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in a on Saturday.
They are Adzmi Pindatun, Mohd Nazri Dollah, Bakar Baba (all Malaysian), Indonesian Darto Bandu and Muhammad Adnan Umar and Muadz Hakim who is a Philippines national.
They are released after serving the full term of their detention.
The six are the last to be detained and released under the preventive act, which was repealed in 2012.
Following its repeal, the Prevention of Crime Act was amended to allow a person to be detained without being charged or tried for up to two years and can be extended for another two in the interest of public order, security or crime prevention.
