Married To A Gay Is Depressing
AYER KEROH: A 30-year-old woman's wish to have a happy family was shattered when she found out that her 32-year-old husband is more interested in his own kind.
Although they have been married for four years, but his refusal to change his ways caused Marina's (not her real name) marriage to break up.
More surprisingly, the woman admitted she is still a virgin even though they live and sleep together.
According to Marina, who now lives with her family, she got close to her ex-husband when they were working together in a private company.
However, she said she became suspicious with his behaviour through his social movements with his friends.
In fact, her cousin had mentioned of his preference towards boys during his school days.
"My intention was to change him to be a 'real' man even though I knew his nature was the opposite.
"We got engaged in 2006 and I almost gave up to the brink of breaking off the engagement. We finally got married in May 2007," she said.
She recalled that during the time they were married, her family thought that they were happy due to her husband's mild and caring behaviour.
"Only God knows how I felt, especially when my needs as a wife was neglected."
"He can be a romantic whenever we celebrate birthdays or wedding anniversaries. But in bed it is as if we are nothing more than a brother and sister. He will only kiss my cheek every time he goes to work," she said.
Marina said she was depressed when he scolded and threatened to divorce her after she expressed her desire to have children.
"It was hurtful to see that he became closer to his male friends to the extent of being abnormal," she said.
Not being able to stand the situation, she said, she had to ask that he release her from the marriage and in finally the court decided to grant their divorce in October 2011.
She regretted the marriage but said that everything that happened was fated.
