Marini's on 57 holds Chinese New Year Party with 3 Lions.

On February 18, 2016, Marini's on 57 held a Chinese New Year Party for their invited guest. With most of Kuala Lumpur's who's who present, the party themed Red and Gold saw many ladies dressed to the theme.

Guest got into the Chinese New Year mood with the free flow of Wine, Beer, Proseco, and Whisky, Vodka and Rum served. They also served a variety of sausages and pizza to fete the hungry and had a buffet of various types of pasta.

The highlight of the evening was when the The Three Lion Black, Red and Yellow appeared, to drive out the evil. With their playful but lifelike movements, they thrilled the guest.

Each colour of the Lion has a significant historical reference:

Yellow
The eldest brother in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Liu Bei was a warlord in the late Eastern Han dynasty and was known as a benevolent and humane ruler.
His lion, called Rui Shi — meaning auspicious lion — is a symbol of wisdom and has an imperial yellow or gold face with white beard and fur.
It also sports a multi-coloured tail signifying blessings from heaven.
Red
Guan Gong or Lord Guan is the second of the brothers from Romance of the Three Kingdoms and is known for his loyalty, strength and long black beard.
He is represented by Xing Shi, which translates to ‘awakened lion’ and has a red face with a black beard.
Black
The youngest of the three brothers is Zhang Fei and was famous for his short temper and love for fighting, making him a formidable warrior.
His lion, Dou Shi — fighting lion — is usually performed by beginners and has a black face, short beard, small ears and black tail.
There is a misconception black is an unlucky colour but here it represents youth in Chinese tradition.
The Lions were followed closely by "The God of Fortune" who handed out Oranges to guest.
The owners, Modesto Marini and His Gorgeous Wife Elizabeth gave offerings to the Lion to receive good fortune.

Guest then took part in the tossing of the Yee Sang for prosperity and luck.
