KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Comm Datuk Amar Singh will be the next City police chief, according to Bukit Aman.
IGP secretariat corporate communications chief Datin Asmawati Ahmad said DCP Amar, who was Federal CID deputy director (investigation/law), would take over the position from Comm Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa.
Tajuddin will be transferred to the Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department as its deputy director.
She said federal special branch deputy director (E1) Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin will be promoted to the rank of Commissioner while holding his current position.
"City deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Law Hong Soon would take over Comm Amar's previous position.
"Federal Reserve unit commander (Federal Internal Security and Public Order) SAC Datuk Abdul Hamid Mohd Ali will take over as city deputy police chief with the rank of Deputy Commissioner," she said.
