The remand period of the suspect in the shooting case at the Arrivals Hall, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in the early morning of April 14, has been extended for five days.
The Kota Bharu Magistrate's Court issued a continued remand order against the 38-year-old suspect to assist the investigation under Section 8 of the Firearms (Heavier Penalty) Act 1971 and Section 8 (a) of the Arms Act 1960.
The order to continue the remand, which is effective tomorrow until April 27, was issued by Magistrate Ahmad Syafiq Aizat Nazri.
Earlier, the suspect wearing an orange lockup shirt arrived at the court grounds at 8.35am, under the strict control of a police team from the Special Investigation Division (D9) of the Criminal Investigation Department, Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK).
In an incident around 1.30am on Sunday, a man fired two shots, one of which hit his wife's bodyguard.
The incident happened when the woman was waiting for the Umrah pilgrims to return at the arrival hall.
The police have so far classified the motive of the case as related to personal details and the suspect was remanded for seven days starting on April 16 and ending today, after being arrested in front of a private hospital in Kota Bharu, Kelantan on April 15.
