KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is currently being treated at the National Heart Institute (IJN).
According to the spokesperson for the former Prime Minister, at this point, Dr Mahathir is still undergoing the recovery process due to the infection.
He also shared the latest photo of Dr Mahathir who was seen reading a newspaper.
However, the spokesperson said, it cannot be ascertained when Dr Mahathir will be allowed to be discharged, until the IJN is satisfied with the level of his recovery.
"I cannot tell when Dr Mahathir will be allowed to leave, for now except that the IJN is satisfied with the level of his recovery," he said via a WhatsApp short message on Tuesday.
Astro AWANI on Monday reported that the pictures that are going viral on various social media platforms, related to Dr Mahathir's latest health are fake.
The IJN will issue an official statement regarding the health status of the former Langkawi Member of Parliament in the near future.
Dr Mahathir, who will turn 99 on July 10, was admitted to the IJN on January 26.
