PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) is seeking an accurate picture and will check the facts related to the three leaders of Muslim non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in this country who are listed in the Terrorist Screening Center (TSC) by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said he had contacted Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain regarding the matter.
"I only found out about the matter two days ago and have contacted the Inspector General of Police to get an accurate picture. All we know is that the FBI made an application regarding the matter, so we have to check the exact facts first.
"I am not ready to give false or ambiguous facts," he said at a press conference after completing the opening ceremony of the Shaftbury Passport Office here today.
The media previously reported that three leaders from a separate Muslim NGO from Malaysia who were active in managing aid to West Asia were listed in the TSC by the FBI.
Following that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ordered the three individuals not to be involved in Ops Ihsan which manages the delivery of humanitarian aid from Malaysians to the Palestinians in Gaza.
Ops Secretariat Chairman Ihsan Jismi Johari previously confirmed the validity of the notification letter he received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in West Asia.
Ops Ihsan was inspired by former Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir as a collaboration platform between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NGOs to mobilize support and humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people.
