ALOR SETAR: The organizer of the 'Choii Underground Music Tour Kedah 2.0' concert which caused controversy on the night of Nisfu Syaaban, appeared to apologize through a video on his TikTok.
He, who is known as Faris Azrii, said that the issue that happened on the night of Nisfu Syaaban was due to a mistake on his part that overlooked the matter.
"What happened did not involve any government body and it was our fault. Does not involve any government and I truly apologize to the Kedah government.
"Regarding the issue of jumping up and down, I also apologize because I brought hip-hop to the land of Kedah but this happened on Friday not Saturday. But we also held a concert and that was a mistake on our part as well," he said.
He added that as a young person who is involved in the world of entrepreneurs, he is also not immune to mistakes made accidentally.
In the meantime, Kedah State Housing, Local Government and Health Exco, Major (B) Mansor Zakaria said, the Kedah government has never through any agency under its administration given a permit or approval for a controversial concert known as 'Choii Underground Music Tour Kedah 2.0 ' held at Taman Jubli Emas, here on the night of Nisfu Syaaban.
He said, there was an application submitted to the state government but in the application, there was no mention of such a proposed concert or stage show.
He said, the organizers applied to hold sales carnivals and events that were allowed according to the state government's guidelines only and the application was approved.
"Therefore, the organization of the concert is without the permission of any state government agency and this is a very serious breach of conditions by the organisers.
"The state government will call the organizers to get an explanation related to this matter and will decide on the follow-up action according to the law after that," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said this while commenting on the organization of a concert held at Taman Jubli Emas, here on Saturday night, which received various reactions from netizens on social media for disrespecting Nisfu Syaaban's night.
Mansor explained that any party that violates the conditions after being granted approval to organize an event, will be blacklisted from participating in any program in the state in the future
