KUALA LUMPUR: Coldplay's concert in Malaysia held on November 22 last year was the concert with the largest audience in the history of the band.

The concert at Bukit Jalil National Stadium had a record attendance of 81,812 spectators.

A verified X account, believed to be owned by fans of the popular British alternative rock band, lists Kuala Lumpur in first place, followed by Croke Park, Ireland in 2017 (80,398 viewers) and Stade de France, France in 2022 (79,582).

Also on the top list is Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Indonesia in 2023 (78,541).

Not only that, the concert in Kuala Lumpur also collected US$10,904,369 (RM51.9 million), which is the second highest ticket revenue for Coldplay, after Indonesia

Many saw it as an impressive achievement because Coldplay's concert in Kuala Lumpur only was for one day.

In the comment section, many fans asked the group to return to Malaysia in the next series of tours, and also hoped that Malaysia would follow the example of Singapore in promoting the country as an entertainment destination, thus generating income for the country.

"Think about the Malaysian tourism sector that missed the show for six days, which about 321,113 people attended.

The Singaporean government declared it Coldplay week. The hotels was packed with tourists from all over ASEAN," said one fan, @lorettabagg on X.

"People will flock to Malaysia if Coldplay performs for six days because our currency is much cheaper than Singapore," said @lllyzlh.

For the record, Coldplay's six-day concert in Singapore recorded 321,113 viewers with a revenue of RM205 million.
