A 11-year-old girl is believed to have been raped by seven men who are also her brother's friends

 A 11-year-old girl is believed to have been raped in turn by seven men who are also her brother's friends in a village, here on November 3.

Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood said, as a result of preliminary investigations, it was found that the incident was witnessed by the victim's nine-year-old sister.

He explained that his party received a report regarding the case last Monday at 9.26pm from the victim's 36-year-old mother.

"The victim's mother was told by her husband that their daughter had been raped. The incident was witnessed by their son who is also the victim's younger brother.

"Further investigation found that on November 3, at around 2pm, the witness had seen seven of his brother's friends, aged between 13 and 31 years old, raping his sister in the next door neighbor's room.

"Six of the suspects are siblings and another is their friend," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

In addition, he said, the witness also informed that similar incidents had happened several times to his sister who did not go to school.

Therefore, he said, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division, Gerik District Police Headquarters arrested all the suspects early yesterday morning.

Zulkifli said the results of urine screening tests on all suspects were negative and the case was investigated according to Section 375B of the Penal Code.

All suspects were remanded for seven days from November 21 to 27.
