Among the visitors of the entertainment centre compounded for suspected violations of the
KUALA LUMPUR: 78 patrons of an entertainment centre in Bangsar Baru, here, were compounded RM1000.00 for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the National Recovery Plan (PPN).
Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said he also issued a summons against a 38-year-old man who was also the manager of the premises for doing business without a licence and violating the PPN SOP.
"As a result of a tip off on the activities of the entertainment centre and about the violation of the PPN SOP, a team of police officers from the Kuala Lumpur Contingent and the Brickfields District Police Headquarters conducted a raid on the premises at 11.30pm," he said in a statement on Thursday.
He said the police also confiscated sales receipts, laptops, music accessories, speakers and microphones.
"The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Entertainment Act 1952 and Regulation 17 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (PPDPPB) (PPN) Regulations 2021," he said.
Amihizam said an examination of urine tests on the customers found two of them positive for drugs.

"They were taken back to the Brickfields Police Department for further investigation under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
He said that during the inspection, a customer had refused to cooperate with the police and tried to escape.
"The suspect has been arrested for the offence of obstructing a civil servant in accordance with Section 186 of the Penal Code," he said.
Amihizam said the public is advised not to engage in any entertainment activities that violate the PPN SOP to ensure the COVID-19 chain can be severed.
