Russia -Ukraine crisis: Malaysian diplomats flee to Poland by road - Report
A GROUP of Malaysian diplomats stranded in Kiev are allegedly on their way out of Ukraine to Poland by road.
They were said to have failed to leave the country before Russian troops approached the Ukrainian capital, the South China Morning Post portal reported on Saturday.
"All of them took the action because the rented bus did not arrive," according to the portal.
The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that their initial plan of a chartered bus had been delayed following heavy traffic but that they finally decided “to make a run for it
The portal reported that those who fled consisted of eight Malaysians and two foreigners who were traveling in four cars.
All of them are said to be heading to Lviv which is located 782 kilometers (km) from Kiev and the journey is expected to take about 10 hours due to slow traffic conditions.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, in a media statement today, said the Malaysian Embassy in Ukraine was trying to bring out eight Malaysians and two foreign dependents from Kiev following the escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
He also expressed Malaysia's concern over the escalating conflict in Ukraine.
Since Ukraine began under attack on Thursday, a total of eight Malaysians remain in Kiev, while 13 others have left the country previously.
