AS predicted, England advanced to the round of 16 of Euro 2020 when they beat the Czech Republic 1-0 at Wembley Stadium early on Wednesday morning.
Raheem Sterling's header in the 12th minute was enough for the Three Lions squad to ensure progress to the knockout round.
The Czech Republic also has a chance to advance to the round of 16 best teams based on the third best position in the group, but will have to wait for the results of other matches to confirm progress.
Meanwhile, in another Group D action early on Wednesday morning, Croatia also secured a slot into the round of 16 of the best teams after beating Scotland 3-1 at Hampden Park, Glasgow.
Croatia opened the scoring in the 17th minute through Nikola Vlasic but Callum McGregor's powerful shot in the 42nd minute put both teams tied 1-1, heading into the dressing room.
Both teams looked to double their pressure in the second half to add to their tally, but luck was on Croatia's favor when Luka Modric scored the second in the 62nd minute before striker Ivan Perisic headed in the Blazers' third winning goal on 77th minute.
