KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar today expressed his disappointment over the ongoing political turmoil in the state.
In a post on his social media account, Sultan Ibrahim said there were still leaders who were greedy for power and continued to fight for posts for their own sake.
In this difficult situation that the people are facing, he added, representatives of the people were seen to be indifferent and willing to add to the suffering of the people.
“I cannot see my people suffering and I will not let my state be disrupted.
“I have vowed to protect and defend the fate of my people and my state at all times.
"If a power struggle happens again among the representatives of the people, I will dissolve the Johor State Assembly immediately," he said.
Thus, the Sultan of Johor will give the people of Johor a chance to elect their new representatives.
Sultan Ibrahim hoped that the people could choose leaders who really wanted to serve the people and the state rather than the party or themselves.
