Firemen step in to remove stuck handcuffs for cops


KUALA LUMPUR: Assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department was required after a key broke inside a pair of handcuffs on a detainee.
Photos of the incident were shared Sunday (Aug 25) on social media, via the Balai Bomba Sentul Facebook page.
It is believed that the incident occurred Saturday (Aug 24) at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Wangsa Maju district police chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail, when contacted, said the police officer on duty had called for assistance after noticing the broken key.t.
"Surveillance duty on the detainee continued as usual after the cuffs were open. A police report on the incident was also made," he said.
