PUTRAJAYA: The authorities will not hesitate to take stern action against controversial rapper and musician Wee Meng Chee or Namewee following his latest provocative video clip.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Namewee should not blame the authorities if stern action was taken against him.
"Don't blame the auhorities if they take legal action. "This is not a warning, but I just want to tell that if anyone make such provocation, they will face the music. "He may have escaped from stern actions for his previous controversial acts, but that does not mean that he can escape forever.
What I am worried now is if there was a 'lone wolf' or organisation that will make personal attack against him, then he cannot blame other people too," he told reporters after presenting 1,836 fire extinguishers and safety kit to tahfiz schools.
He was commenting on the controversial video clip titled 'Like a Dog' that shows Namewee and other individuals dancing indecently in front of Masjid Putra.
The video led to social media activist chairman Kamarudin Ahmad urging the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to investigate the video clip which had since gone viral. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
