JOHOR BARU: Passengers in a stage bus had a harrowing experience when it caught fire as it was passing along Jalan Tebrau near Kg Melayu about 4pm today. The stage bus which was loaded to the brim with 42 passengers made an emergency stop along the road and all of them managed to escape just in the nick of time before the vehicle was engulfed by flames. Tebrau Fire and Rescue Department operations chief senior firefighter Ronie Robert said firemen received a distress call at 4.26pm and rushed to the scene.

"All passenger including the bus driver were accounted for and spared from any injuries," he said. He said a forensic investigation would be carried out to determine the cause of the blaze. © New Straits Times Press
