Indonesian man gets 4 months' jail for forcing woman, 79, to hold his genitals

KUALA LUMPUR: An Indonesian man was sentenced to four months’ jail by the magistrate’s court here today for outraging the modesty of a 79-year-old woman last month.
Magistrate Maizatul Munirah Abd Rahman meted out the sentence after the foreigner, 42-year-old grocery story worker Saruddin, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 377D of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum two-year sentence.
According to the facts of the case, Saruddin had forced the senior citizen, who is a masseuse, to hold his genitals in the living room of a house in Kampung Seri Malaysia, here, about 9.30pm on Jan 19.
Before sentencing was handed down, Saruddin – who was not represented – pleaded for a light sentence.
However, deputy public prosecutor Noorelynna Hanim Abd Halim asked the court to hand down an appropriate sentence as a lesson to the accused. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
