Police tracking down three men over abduction case at Setapak Central
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are tracking down three men over an abduction case at Setapak Central mall on Monday.
According to police, a woman, who had gone to the mall to meet a man over some business matter at one of its cafes, was forced to enter a Toyota Alphard in the 10.20am incident.
City police chief Datuk Amar Singh said the incident was witnessed by several bystanders who was at the scene at the time of the incident.
“At about 5.30pm today, the victim was released at Duke Highway and she immediately informed her mother that she was safe.
“The abductors had taken two mobile phones from the woman,” he said in a statement.
The victim sustained light injuries on her feet and left hand in a scuffle when she tried to get away from the men.
Initial investigation revealed the vehicle used by the men was rented and has since been seized by the police.
Amar said further investigation is underway.
