Six security guards held after robbery at bank
TAMPIN: A man in a Toyota pickup truck has made off with a bag filled with RM400,000 that was just taken out from a bank by security personnel who were about to place it in an armoured truck in the dramatic robbery incident near Pulau Sebang at 9:30pm last night, Sinar Harian reports.
Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Muhammad Ismail Muhammad Yusuf was quoted as saying the suspect, who is believed to be in his 30s, fled the scene in his pickup truck which had a fake registration plate.
“After looking into the surveillance video, I noticed that the security personnel at the scene did not open fire on the suspect who then sped off from the scene using his (Toyota) Hilux pickup truck.
"The whole incident was like a script of a drama but we will look into the CCTV footage for further investigation. However, six security personnel have been remanded to assist in enquiries," he added.
Police investigations were ongoing, the report said.
