Water supply in 136 areas in Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling and Hulu Langat will be disrupted due to upgrading work


Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling and Hulu Langat to face water disruptions



KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply in 136 areas in Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling and Hulu Langat will be disrupted due to upgrading work, according to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas).

Its Corporate Affairs Division executive director Priscilla Alfred said the disruption in the Petaling district would begin at 9pm on Oct 6 (Tuesday) until 6am on Oct 7 (Wednesday).

She said 19 areas would be affected - Kampung Merbau Sempak; Kampung Kubu Gajah; Paya Jaras; Sungai Plong; Sungai Buloh Prison; Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh; Subang Hijauan U5; Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh and Kampung Selamat.

Also affected are Damansara Damai; Desa Aman; Sierramas; TSB Komersil; Ladang Baru; Saujana Utama; Kampung Baru Subang; Prima Damansara; Saujana Damansara and the Sungai Buloh Leprosy Hospital.


"This is due to work to take out the ‘hot tapping’ machine which has technical problems," she said in a statement recently.

Water disruption to replace the butterfly valves in 42 areas in Klang and Shah Alam would be from 9pm on Oct 7 until 4pm the next day.

They areas are - Bandar Klang Utara; Taman Pelangi Indah; Batu Belah; Sungai Putus; Batu 1 to Batu 3 Jalan Meru including Taman Bukit Raja; Taman Pasar Baru; Taman Orkid; Taman Sentosa; Taman Sri Pinang; Taman Muhibbah; Taman Mutiara and Taman Sri Pekan.

Also included - Taman Jaya, Klang; Taman Saga, Klang; Taman Intimewa; Taman Bahagia; Batu 1 to Batu 9 Jalan Kapar including Kampung Batu 3; Kampung Rantau Panjang; Taman Cempaka Sari; Taman Klang Utama; Sungai Puloh industrial area; Taman Sementa and Perepat; housing and industrial areas of Bandar Sultan Sulaiman; North Port; Taman Industrial Park; Jalan Limbungan; Jalan Syahbandar; Jalan Pelabuhan Utara; Sungai Sireh; Seri Perantau; Kampung Keretapi; Perdana Industrial Park; Bukit Rajah Maxharta industrial area; Bandar Baru Klang as well as the Maxharta Seksyen 7 Business Centre.

The critical areas are in North Port, KPJ Hospital, Bandar Baru Klang; Al-Hijrah Dialysis Centre, Jalan Keluli AK7/AK Bukit Rajah; Meru Market Hemodialysis Association, HD Unit, Batu 1 Jalan Meru; Mesra Dialysis Centre, Jalan Kapar, and MAIS Dialysis Centre, Kapar.

There will also be disruptions in water supply to Hulu Langat involving 75 areas due to replacement work of the flow meter at the Sungai Langat water treatment plant which will begin from 9pm on Oct 13 until 8am the next day.

They include - Taman Kota Cheras; Taman Rasa Sayang; Taman Sri Aman; Taman Cheras Mas; Taman Lagenda Mas 1 and 2; Taman Tun Perak; Bandar Tun Hussein Onn; Taman Beringin, Sutera Residence and Taman Puncak Perdana.

Also affected - Bandar Sungai Long; Taman Sutera; Maktab Polis Batu 9; Taman Sri Kenari; Country Heights; Taman Prima Saujana; Taman Koperasi Maju Jaya; Taman Sri Minang; Taman Desa Budiman; Taman Ikhlas; Taman Makmur; Taman Rakan; Taman Bukit Permai and Taman Cheras Perdana; Batu 10 (Jalan Puyuh, Jalan Cecawi, Jalan Balam, Jalan Nuri); Taman Damai Indah; Taman Murni; Taman Megah and Taman Megah 2; Taman Sri Cheras; Taman Sri Cheras Jaya; Bukit Dukong; Jalan Suasana Seksyen 1B, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn; Taman Delima; Taman Sungai Sekamat; Kampung Simpang Balak and Rumah Murah Simpang Balak; Taman Koperasi Cuepacs; Taman Desa Baru; Taman Mesra; Jalan Cheras Kajang Batu 12 hingga 14; Kampung Paya; Taman Kasih; Taman Sekamat Indah; Kampung Sungai Sekamat; Taman Muhibbah; Kampung Sungai Jernih; Taman Cheras Prima; Kampung Baru Cina Batu 11 Cheras; Taman Indah and Kampung Sungai Ramal Dalam.

Other areas hit - Kampung Sungai Ramal Baru; Kampung Sungai Ramal Luar; Desa Meringin; Taman Ramal Indah; Desa Surada; Bukit Angkat industrial area; Bukit Angkat; Sungai Chua industrial area; Kampung Baru Sungai Chua Jalan 19 to 27; Taman Cendana; Taman Muhibbah; Kampung Jambu; Taman Majlis Jaya and Taman Kajang Baru Sungai Chua, Taman Pinggiran Sungai Chua; Taman Sri Kota; Taman Bunga Raya; Taman Cheras Permai; Kampung Melaka; Kampung Sungai Raya Batu 9; Kampung Baru Cina Batu 9; Mahkota Cheras Jalan Panglima and Persiaran Mahkota residence; Taman Sri Raya; Taman Prima Suria as well as Taman Putri Jaya.

Syabas has urged the public to take the necessary steps to store sufficient water and to use it sparingly for the duration of the disruptions.
