Couple killed by bomb on booby-trapped motorcycle

An elderly couple were killed after the motorcycle they were on exploded - believed to have been caused by a home-made bomb - at Jalan Pulai here Wednesday morning.
According to local residents, the couple were known as Ah Mok and his wife Kim Fong, both rubber tappers in their seventies.
District police chief Superintendent Saiful Bahri Abdullah said preliminary investigations into the 9.30am incident, showed that the bomb was home-made and placed on the motorcycle.
"The blast was very powerful," he said, adding that remains of the victims were strewn all over the road.
"The motorcycle was totally destroyed and a forensic investigation unit from Kuantan will be assisting investigations," he said.
Supt Saiful Bahri also warned the public not to speculate or politicise the incident and that the incident had no religious, racial or political motivation
