KUALA LUMPUR: A mother of a six-year-old boy hopes the court would send the man who sodomised her son to jail for as long as possible.
She said she was sad and angry that unemployed Adam Shafiq Malik Faisul had sodomised her son.
“I hope the court would send the accused to prison for a longer period so that he would not have the chance to harm other children,” said the 30-year-old mother in her victim impact statement read out by a Sessions Court interpreter yesterday.
The statement was read out after Adam Shafiq, 27, pleaded guilty to committing sodomy on the boy in his flat at PPR Desa Tun Razak in Cheras here between 1.30pm and 2pm on Aug 5.
The boy’s mother said her son was traumatised and refused to go home after the incident.
Sessions Court judge Datin M. Kunasundary jailed Adam Shafiq to 10 years in jail and instructed him to be whipped six times.
Earlier in mitigation, Adam Shafiq, who was unrepresented, said he had repented and realised that his action was against religion
