IGP orders probe on BFM presenter and those who threatened her

PETALING JAYA: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has said the police will investigate a BFM presenter and those who threatened her over a satirical video on hudud.
"Kes BFM, @PDRM akan siasat kedua2 pihak. Penyiar BFM dan yang ugut Penyiar. Penulis Skrip Penyiar juga akan dipanggil," he said in his tweet.
("On the BFM case, @PDRM will investigate both sides, the presenter and those who threatened her. The script writer will also be called)
On Friday, a presenter from radio station BFM, Aisyah Tajuddin received death and rape threats after a video questioning the tabling of hudud laws in Kelantan went viral online.
Her photos were widely circulated on Facebook with some users threatening physical violence against her.
In the two-minute satire video, titled "Hudud Isi Periuk Nasi" that was posted on Thursday, Aisyah had criticised the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly for passing amendments to the state's Syariah Criminal Code II 1993.
The video was produced and directed by Projek Dialog, a platform to discuss pertinent issues in the country.
BFM had taken down the video and had apologised for any offence caused, adding that Aisyah was merely a stand-in cast member of the video and not its regular presenter.
Her father Prof Dr Mohamad Tajuddin Mohamad Rasdi defended Aisyah and questioned whether Malaysia “is safe for our children."
