KUALA LUMPUR: Six policemen raided PKR’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya on Sunday afternoon to seize materials related to the #KitaLawan rally.
The policemen from the Dang Wangi police station arrived at the party headquarters at about 4.45pm, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil told The Star Online.
Accompanying the policemen were party secretary-general Rafizi Ramli and lawyer Manivanan Gowin.
"They are currently in the process of breaking down YB Rafizi's office door. We don't know what they are going to take yet but we will know in about an hour," Fahmi said.
He added that the Pandan MP did not have his office keys as he was under arrest.
"The police resorted to breaking down the door due to the absence of PKR headquarters staff as they were off for the weekend," said Fahmi.
Rafizi had been remanded for three days after he was arrested on Friday in Pandan Prima under the Sedition Act for issuing a statement on Saturday’s #KitaLawan rally.
The protest has been staged weekly since February, after Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sentenced to five years in jail by the Federal Court over his sodomy conviction.
Since then, the police have arrested a number of Opposition figures, namely PKR vice-president Tian Chua, PAS deputy president Mat Sabu, PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and DAP Socialist Youth chairman Teo Kok Seong.
