Mohd Firdaus Mohd Faridul (pic) admitted the offence on Thursday after he was offered the alternative charge under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which carries a jail term of up to 30 years and a fine.
He was charged on Jan 28, 2014, with causing the death of 14-year-old Noor Syafikah Nadia Abdullah between 9.30pm and 11.30pm on Nov 29, 2013, in an abandoned padi field in Kampung Alor Senibong here.
Mohd Firdaus appeared calm and nodded his head as he admitted his guilt.
The accused, from Kampung Alor Semela, was earlier charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
He was represented by counsel Burhanudeen Abdul Wahid while Kedah prosecution unit head Salim Soib @ Hamid prosecuted.
Judicial Commissioner Dr Choo Kah Sing fixed April 9 to deliver the sentence.
Noor Syafikah and her two sisters Nur Izzati Husna Rusdi, 12, and Puteri Nurul Akma Rusdi, three, were found dead after they went missing from their house in Kampung Alor Semela in Jalan Datuk Kumbar on Nov 29, 2013.
Noor Syafikah's body was found in an abandoned padi field at around 3.40pm the next day.
The bodies of Noor Syafikah's younger sisters were found floating in a Muda Agriculture Development Authority (MADA) canal in Kampung Padang Petani some 3.5km away at about 4.50pm on Dec 1, 2013.
