Vietnamese woman thrown from 25th floor, says OCPD

PETALING JAYA: A Vietnamese who was initially thought to have committed suicide, was actually slashed on the neck by her Malaysian boyfriend who is believed to have thrown her body from his 25th floor apartment.
Tran Thi Kim Sang, 21, was found dead on the first floor of the apartment block here on Jan 6, Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said.
Police had thought that Tran, who came to Malaysia on Jan 3 on a tourist visa, had jumped off the building.
However, ACP Yahaya said a post-mortem found a slash wound from the back of her head to the neck.
He said Tran was likely to have been dead when she was thrown off the building.
“We believe she was staying with the 41-year-old boyfriend at the apartment,” he told a press conference yesterday.
ACP Yahaya said that CCTV footage showed the couple entering the apartment together that night.
The man was seen leaving the next morning and had been missing ever since, he added.
ACP Yahaya said police also found blood stains in the penthouse on the 25th floor that was rented by the boyfriend.
Police are looking for Chan Wee Meng, whose last known address was in Johor, to help in the investigations.
