KUALA LUMPUR: Naza Premira, the official importer and distributor of Vespascooters in Malaysia, is targeting to sell 600 to 800 units of its newly launched Vespa Primavera by the end of the year.
At the launch, the company said it expected to sell roughly 2,000 units of Vespascooters for this year alone and was dependant on how quick its dealers came on board.
“Vespa has been increasing in popularity in Malaysia recently, with more people recognising the brand as a lifestyle product rather than just a means of mobility,” said Naza Group of Companies joint group executive chairman Datuk Wira SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin.
The Primavera’s styling harks back to the days of the 1960s, with a 155cc engine and an automatic continuously variable transmission.
The scooter is priced at RM11,888.
“The new design (of the Primavera) is remarkably trendy, more comfortable and stays loyal to the history of the original model. It’s a sophisticated ride with improved fuel efficiency, smooth power delivery and enhanced riding pleasure; ideal for city streets,” Faisal said.
