MH17: Remains of seven Malaysians, two Dutch arriving tomorrow, says Liow

   
KLANG: The remains of nine victims killed on board Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 will arrive in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
According to Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, seven of the remains arriving are Malaysian whilst two are Dutch.
He added that an inter-ministry meeting is being held at the KL International Airport Monday afternoon to discuss the arrival.
“We are having the meeting to detail the programme for tomorrow. We will be arranging for the same (as the previous arrivals) and giving the highest honours to the victims,’’ he said.
Liow, who spoke to reporters after launching the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Klang Che Sang Khor Moral Uplifting Society here, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak would be on hand to receive the remains upon their arrival in KLIA.
He said currently only the remains of one Malaysian was still in the Netherlands.
Liow said this was because the repatriation arrangements could not me made in time for the remains of that one Malaysian to join the rest in coming home.
Flight MH17 was shot down in eastern Ukraine on July 17 while en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur resulting in the deaths of 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
Forty-three of those who had perished in the tragedy were Malaysians.
