KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Mohd Fuzi Harun officially takes over as acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police following the retirement of Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Zinin.
Bakri handed over the post to Fuzi, who is Bukit Aman's management director, in a ceremony witnessed by Home Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Alwi Ibrahim at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) on Friday.

“I cannot believe it is my last day as a cop. This career has been my life for the last 39 years,” a tearful Bakri said in his farewell speech.

He added that the "Sabahan kampung boy" has indeed come far to become the deputy IGP.
“I wished him (Mohd Fuzi) all the best in his duty,” Bakri said.
Alwi thanked Bakri for the years he had served in the police force. “There is certainly no other cop or crime buster such as him,” he said.
Bakri was given the full guard-of-honour salute as he took his final steps as a police officer.
