Liverpool fans around the world rallied behind the daughter of missing chief steward Andrew Nari after she posted a heartfelt message about her father on Twitter during the Manchester United-Liverpool match last Sunday, the club's official website reported today.
Liverpool's official website reported that teenager Maira Elizabeth Nari's tweet was met with a flurry of touching replies as friends and strangers alike took the time to offer her hope and encouragement.
Maira, through her Twitter handle @Gorgxous_ said: "Daddy, Liverpool is winning the game. Come home, so you can watch the game! You never miss watching the game. It's your very first time. :')"
Liverpool won that game 3-0.
Her tweet had 3,764 retweets and was also shared by Liverpool FC’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts yesterday.
The football club posted the following Tweet directly to Maira:
