KUALA LUMPUR: An oil spill at Jalan Duta here caused a series of accidents involving at least 20 motorcycles and three cars this afternoon.
In the 2pm incident, at least a woman was seriously injured after her car skidded and hit a road divider there.
City Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Azizan Ismail said the diesel fuel, which came from a three-tonne lorry, was spilled on the surface of about one-kilometre road near the Hockey Stadium there.
“The incident saw 20 motorcyclists lost control of their bikes and fell on the road, while three cars skidded before ramming into a road divider.
“The female victim was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, while the motorcyclists only suffered minor injuries,” he said.
Azizan said they received call on the incident at 2.20pm, and the department has despatched seven fire engines to the scene.
