INDIAN AIR FORCE HERCULES CARGO PLANE CRASHES

Indian jet crashes, five crew believed dead

NEW DELHI: A C-130J Hercules cargo plane carrying five crew members crashed Friday in central India, an Air Force spokesman said.
Group captain Gerard Galway said the Air Force was looking into the accident that happened on the outskirts of Gwalior in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
"Rescue operation is underway. We are trying to find out about the casualties," he told AFP.
However, India's NDTV news network said all five on board had died in the accident.
The plane was on a routine flight and had taken off from an airbase in the tourist city of Agra.
Earlier it was reported that the multi-role special operations aircraft, had been used during the recent search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
This does not however appear to be the case, according to the Times of India.
It was also used in relief operations after the Uttarakhand floods and for a recent landing at Daulat Beg Oldie near the border with China, said NDTV. - AFP/Bernama
